Moved By World Events Messina Pens "Heaven Was Needing A Hero"

Like everyone else, Jo Dee Messina has been on an emotional roller coaster since the onset of the war in Iraq. As a songwriter she has a therapeutic outlet in words and music and she put those skills to good use in writing "Heaven Was Needing A Hero," as an emotional outpouring. Messina did a simple guitar/piano demo of "Heaven Was Needing A Hero" and put it on her website as an offering to her fans. There are no plans for the heartfelt song to appear on any recorded bodies of work and at this time was heard here on her official website www.jodeemessina.com. When asked why she created this special piece Messina said, "I thought of the song when I saw an interview with a family member of the first female soldier killed in combat. As I continue to watch the war coverage, my heart breaks for all of the family members who have lost loved ones. The day they announced the death of NBC reporter David Bloom I was compelled to finish the song." Jo Dee thanks all those who sent in heartfelt letters and emails regarding her tribute.
