August 28, 2006 – Country
sensation Jo Dee Messina is set to take on New York City as part of the
CMA Songwriters Series at Joe’s Pub August 29th. As part of the series,
which features successful songwriters from Nashville, Jo Dee will tell
the stories behind four of her biggest hits including “It Gets Better,”
“Life is Good,” “Love is Not Enough,” and “Where Were You” as well as
perform them.

Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. (“Cracker Barrel”) is taking a
significant step in the music business by announcing an exclusive Songs
of the Year CD and a special concert with one lucky person winning an

will be released October 3rd followed by a November 5th concert at the
Schermerhorn Symphony Hall in Nashville.

It's 9:30 in the morning in Nashville, and the temperature already has
reached 88 degrees.
Jo Dee Messina has seven or eight interviews lined up, and the music
veteran has developed a strategy to deal with the press and the heat.
"I'm in my pool, so you if you hear the dog barking at me, I apologize,"
she says with a laugh. |

Perky and precocious, Jo Dee Messina is, to quote one of her songs, "doin’
all right."
She was born 35 years ago in Massachusetts, where she began performing
at age 6. She moved to Nashville, Tenn., at 19 and started competing in
talent shows; by her mid-20s, the country singer had signed with Curb
Records.

Jo Dee Messina may not have been born in country music territory, but
the native New Englander's life since hitting the big time in Nashville
has contained all the elements of her chosen genre.

Association award nominations and solid standing among the newer wave of
country divas.

July 25th Jo Dee took part in a charily celebrity wheelchair basketball
game to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee and Able
Youth. Jo Dee wowed the crowed at Allen Arena by playing a phenomenal
game and then performing a high energy concert to close out the evening.
Jo Dee's participation helped to make this a record breaking year in
both attendance and money raised to provide sports programs for
wheelchair bound individuals and help build ramps to assist those
individuals to gain easier access to their homes. Take a look at some

Fans in the Nashville area got a real treat July 22nd for a rare
appearance on the Grand Ole Opry.
Jo Dee performed on the televised segment of the Opry coming out two
times and performing a total of 4 songs. Jo Dee loves performing on the
Opry stage and thinking about all the legends before have walked on that

UNCASVILLE, Conn. - It was an emotional night for country stars Jo Dee
Messina and Chris Cagle at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Monday. Messina and
Cagle combined for a four-hour performance with Messina closing the
night with her 90-minute set.
For Messina, being close to home (she was raised in Holliston, Mass.)
afforded her the opportunity to have her dad in the audience. Just
before her heart-Reviewwrenching piano rendition of "It Gets Better,"
Messina invited him on stage.

made the announcement today that Bank of America has donated $500,000 to

Special Olympics Team USA, a group of approximately 400 athletes and
170 coaches selected to represent all 50 United States in the 2007
Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, People's Republic of
China. As the Team USA spokesperson, Messina will serve as an honorary
member of Team USA.
