She made her mark on the country music scene in 1996 and, since then, has sold more than 5 million albums and recorded nine No. 1 songs. 

MESSINA BRINGS POWER, PERSONALITY TO TOUR

Jo Dee Messina will unleash her larger-than-life voice and personality on Firelake Grand Casino on Sunday during her nationwide tour promoting her TBD released album "Unmistakable.”

The singer-songwriter, who celebrated her 37th birthday Saturday, has enjoyed nine No. 1 country hit singles and in 1998 made history as the first female country artist to score three multiple-week No. 1 songs from the same album. On her tour, she is playing music from her four previous albums and premiering songs from her new album.

Jo Dee Messina opens up about her new single, her fiancé and her hopes for the coming months.

Shortly after the release of her rockin’ new single, “Biker Chick,” Jo Dee Messina took some time for an exclusive interview with CW’s David Scarlett. Here are some excerpts from that chat.

CW: How does your family feel about your fiancé, Chris? Have they all met him?

JM: My mother loves him . . . well, my family loves him. He’s just one of those guys everybody loves. 
 

JAY DEMARCUS IS EXCITED ABOUT NEW JDM MUSIC

Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus has carved out a second career for himself as a record producer, and while he can't devote as much time or attention to producing as he does to Rascal Flatts, he still considers it worthwhile.

Jay recently produced tracks for Jo Dee Messina's upcoming album Unmistakable, as well as for MuzikMafia member James Otto. "Producing is something that I love to do, and I've had a chance to do a couple things," he tells icebergradio.com. James is actually my brother-in-law, and he came to me and asked me to help him cut a couple sides for his record, and I think his album's coming out sometime in the spring. I finished up four sides on Jo Dee Messina, and I'm excited about that. It's something that I love to do when given the time and opportunity."

When country star Jo Dee Messina writes or sings a song, her objective isn't necessarily to inspire but oftentimes that's exactly what her music does for fans.

JO DEE MESSINA HELPS HONOR "DALE"

CMT has big plans to bring "Dale," a documentary on Dale Earnhardt, to television. The Paul Newman -narrated film will premiere at 8 p.m. Sept. 4, with repeats at 8 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6. "Dale" will be released on DVD next year. CMT will precede the Sept. 4 premiere with "Dale Pre-Show: His Greatest Comeback" at 7 p.m. Look for Jo Dee Messina and others to take part in this very special tribute! more!
 

JO DEE MESSINA EXPLAINS HER ENTRY IN CHICAGO MARATHON

Jo Dee Messina visited with Blair Garner’s After MidNite recently and explained why she entered the Chicago marathon?

“I’ve always been kind of a jock, because my dad was an athletic director and I grew up in a neighborhood filled with boys, so you had to know how to play baseball and Capture the Flag and kickball and football and everything else in order to hang with the guys, so I was athletic, but the running thing did come on later in life. And this specific marathon…I had a radio guy say to me, “If I do the Chicago Marathon, will you do it with me?” and I was like, “Absolutely!” So I registered, and the organizers found out that I was running, and did the press thing, and everybody knows I’m running…and I talked to the guy from the radio station, and I said, “How’s your training coming?” and he goes, “Oh, I can’t run. I tried to run a few weeks ago…” and I’m like, “I’m doing this thing on my own?!” so my steel player’s joining me, my brother’s joining me, and it’s just gonna be a fun family event!

“At 10 after 10, halfway into Jo Dee Messina's thoroughly enjoyable performance at the Grove of Anaheim, everyone in the place started hearing a series of bangs and booms. Low rumbles – as if someone were blowing heavily into a microphone at the back of the hall – followed by sudden, deep pops.

"Ohhh, righhht," some of us must have thought. "Friday night fireworks at Angels Stadium. Game just ended."  

MESSINA IS MAGIC IN SWEET HOME

“We had a great show Sunday afternoon,” Peter LaPonte (event director) said. “Jo Dee Messina did a 10-song encore. It was incredible. It was magic. She just kept playing and the crowd was loving it. It was outside of her normal set. After her show, she told us how happy she was with our venue and she hugged several of our volunteers and thanked everybody.”

Because Messina’s show ran into the twilight, it became the Jamboree’s first Sunday show played under the lights.

JO DEE MESSINA RETURNS TO THE AIRWAVES WITH ”BIKER CHICK”

July 9, 2007 – Multi-platinum recording artist Jo Dee Messina will release her first single in nearly a year, ‘Biker Chick,’ which will hit airwaves on July 9th. It is the premiere single from her forthcoming Fall album, Unmistakable, the follow-up to her 2005 #1 album Delicious Surprise.

“Biker Chick,” co-written by Kelly Archer and Max T. Barnes, was recorded late last year in Nashville. It was produced by Jo Dee and Jerry Flowers.

Jo Dee To Help Prepare Athletes for the 2007 Special Olympic World Summer Games July 5, 2007

Country superstar Jo Dee Messina, who has been an ambassador for the Special Olympics for about three years, jumped at the chance to help prepare the athletes for the 2007 Special Olympic World Summer Games in Shanghai, China during the Team USA Training Camp at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Jo Dee will kick off the training camp July 12th with a concert for the 580 athletes, coaches, and volunteers involved with the training camp. Three days later Jo Dee along with her band and crew will take part in the Special Olympics All-Star Softball Game at Hawkins Field against some of the Special Olympic athletes. Following the game Jo Dee will be a model in a fashion show presenting the clothing the athletes will be seen wearing throughout their trip to Shanghai. .

June 14, 2007 – Multi-platinum recording artist Jo Dee Messina was scheduled to perform the National Anthem and a forty five minute show at the 2007 President’s Dinner last night in Washington D.C.. However, at the last minute, Jo Dee volunteered to perform an additional hour long set at the beginning of the event to fill in for an ailing Trace Adkins.
