A tour next month, a new single and album next year – Jo Dee Messina is definitely making up for lost time.

Of course, it’s not like Messina has been kicking back and taking it easy. Sure, it’s been five years since her last album, but since then the country music singer / songwriter married and had a son – 10 month old Noah.

Messina’s tour in the western U.S. begins next month in Mesa, Ariz., at the Ikeda Theatre Nov. 5. From there it’s onward to Shiprock, N.M., and the Phil L. Thomas Performing Arts Center Nov. 6. The next night finds her in Pueblo of Acoma, N.M., at the Theatre at Sky City Casino Nov. 7.

FORT PIERCE — Hometown News -Jo Dee Messina is not the first performer to perform unplugged, use Twitter or invite audience members onstage, but to the patrons of her one-night only show at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce it might have been a first for them.

Ms. Messina is a multi-award winning country music artist who debuted her first album in 1996 with two top-10 hits.

Her interaction with her fans on the Treasure Coast started several days before she arrived in Fort Pierce. Broadcasting through the social networking phenomenon Twitter, Ms. Messina broadcast tweets, such as “Did Jo Dee ever release a video for ‘Heaven Was Needing A Hero?’ First to answer and can be at the show wins!” or “Head to Sentiments on Orange Avenue for 2 tix to see Jo Dee Messina live 10/23 @sunrisetheatre.”

Jo Dee Messina is taking a little piece of home-sweet-home out on the road with her. The stage on the singer's upcoming tour will be modeled after her favorite room in her house -- the room where she writes, sings and rehearses. Her Music Room Series tour promises to be an up close and personal experience for fans, as Jo Dee promises to make the show just like it would be if they were in her home.

"I wanted a chance for folks to get to know me," Jo Dee tells Florida's Hometown News.
