Catching Up with Jo Dee in
Switzerland We all live in the Netherlands and do a lot of country-linedancing all over the country. Once a year we travel to Switserland to the Country Night Gstaad and this year was special because one of our favourites, Jo Dee. It's about 600 miles drive over there, but we don't mind, it's worth it, and we don't get to see such artists in our own country. Besides that it's also the ambiance of the surrounding mountains of the Alpes at the concert site. There are two similar concerts on Friday and on Saturday night each second weekend of September. It's held in a special for acoustics built tent with about 3000 numbered seats. There are 4 acts always, and this years line-up: Chad Brock, Asleep at the Wheel, Wynonna and of course Jo Dee Messina and her fabulous band.
The concert..... Jo Dee was the second act... all I can say it was marvelous... I don't know anymore what came first or what was next, but all the "goodies" came by! What a professional band and oh, what a power she has in her voice, with the mike sometimes 10 inches away from her face, she still has an enormous volume. It was great, a concert of great quality, such as we would like to attend at least every week, but unfortunately that's not possible.

When we first met uptown, we found it so marvelous, that Jo Dee was willing to pose with the four of us for a picture without even thinking. The person who was with her (sorry, I lost his name), took the shot and he told us to come and see him right after Jo Dee's show for autographs and so, but somehow we managed to be back-stage when Jo Dee and the band arrived there and we made the picture. She signed up the album-inlays and the concert program as well. Thanks again Jo Dee!
